Massabesic.com has made a commitment to support the local communities by donating 10% of all pre-tax profit to organizations that provide services that benefit the residents of the Massabesic area. Examples of organizations that might benefit include youth sports programs, community service organizations, non-profit groups, etc. Basically, any organization that would hold a fund raiser to raise money to support youth, senior citizen, or community service programs would be eligible to receive donations. In addition, we also provide a way for users to directly support the non-profit organization of their choice. In this case, 100% of the user's donation goes directly to the organization that they choose.
We have established affiliations with a number of companies that we think can provide valuable products and services that residents of the Massabesic area will find useful. We will continually review these affiliations to make sure that they are satisfying our users' needs. Users support Massabesic.com by visiting our site, selecting a link to one of our affiliates, and completing a purchase of products or services from that affiliate. It should be noted that we do not endorse the products or services of our affiliates and neither do they endorse our site, our products, or services. The affiliation is like that of a company that advertises in a newspaper. One does not hold the newspaper responsible for a defective product purchased from one of it's advertisers. Likewise, one does not hold the advertiser responsible for an unfavorable editorial opinion in the newspaper. There are two primary differences, though. First, the affiliates do not pay Massabesic.com for placement on our site unless a user actually completes a sale. Second, Massabesic.com selects the affiliates that will be placed on our site and can remove or reject any affiliate that we find to be objectionable.
Massabesic.com was established to provide information to the residents of the Massabesic area. For our purposes, we define this area to include all six towns of the SAD #57 school district. We strive to be accurate and relevant to the communities' needs. We are not affiliated with the school district. However, whether we send children to the schools or whether we pay taxes to support the schools, it is clear that the school district is an important part of all of our communities.
